Hi!

I'm Will Bickerton.

I'm a Computer Science graduate who is proficient in many areas from Fullstack development to low level graphics work with Vulkan.

My goto technologies are Svelte for web development and Dioxus for multi-platform GUI development. I also have experience with React, Django and Astro.

I did an MComp in Computer Science and for my last year specialized in Game Engineering after I discovered my passion for graphics programming. I started by exploring voxels using OpenGL before moving onto more general rendering and Vulkan. I'm especially interested in how to best leverage the API to achieve the best performance.

Fullstack & Desktop
Save Manager
A save sharing and versioning tool for various games. The desktop application allows users to manage their saves without having to manually manage the files.

Weather Watch
A university group project designed to help raise awareness of climate change. It features a live air quality map, a social media like post system. I worked on the quiz system which allows users to both create and take quizzes.

Games and Graphics

Vulkan
Vulkan Renderer
A Vulkan renderer that implements a deferred rendering pipeline with multi-draw, PBR materials, omnidirectional shadow maps, async SSAO and bloom. It is capable of rendering the Amazon Lumberyard Bistro scene at 80FPS.

OpenGL
Compute Skinning
My graphics coursework project which implements a compute shader to perform skinning on the GPU. It is capable of rendering over 100 animated characters at 120FPS. It also uses multi-draw and bindless textures to reduce the API overhead.
